TV Fanatic: You played a gay character on Glee and there is a bullying part in the start of The Flash pilot, which I would guess a lot of people, gay or straight, will be able to relate to.

Grant Gustin: I mean, I was a tap dancer when I was a 10-year-old and I was bullied just the same all…

Looking back on it, it was just a whirlwind at first, and it’s still a dream come true. It was episode three of Season 1 where I went and auditioned for the part. It was a “possibly recurring” role, but possible doesn’t end up happening a whole lot — or ever. So when I got a recurring role, I was really excited and just crying and happy. I got to keep coming back, and I cannot express to you how much I’ve been able to learn working on the show and growing with Felicity. I’ve never been able to grow with a character for this long — across two seasons!

Spoiler next season - Felicity!

“The producers are planning a series of Felicity-centric flashbacks that they call “the secret origin of Felicity Smoak.” “We are absolutely going to get to know her,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim tells me. “We know that she went to MIT, we know that her mom was a cocktail waitress in Vegas and we’re going to meet that mom. And we also know that her dad is not in the picture.” Any theories on the identity of Dear Old Dad?”
